Construction Material Testing Projects

SKG Engineering has been involved in several projects requiring construction material testing and inspection services.  Our construction material testing compliments our geotechnical investigations and engineering design phases and provides the ability to offer a complete package of services to our clients.  Below is a list of several of those projects and the extent of the work performed.

Campus Crest - Complete design of a new multi-building apartment complex for university students including geotechnical investigation, foundation planning, site plan, grading design, surveying topographical surveying, drainage study, utility design, platting, staking, construction material testing and erosion and sedimentation control planning and management.

Martifer Energy Facility - Complete design of a new wind tower factory including geotechnical investigation, foundation planning, site plan, grading design, surveying, topographical surveying, drainage study, utility design, platting, staking, construction material testing and erosion and sedimentation control planning and management.

Water Treatment Plant - City of Junction, geotechnical investigation for improvements to existing wastewater treatment facility.

Water Treatment Plant Improvements - City of Junction, including improvements to existing water treatment facility including soil sampling, laboratory analysis and reports for the water treatment facility.  SKG has a representative on-site to inspect the progress, complete inspection reports, and coordinate between the funding agency, Texas Water Development Board (TWBD) and the client.

Electrical Substations - Concho Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc., construction staking, surveying, geotechnical investigation, construction material testing, and inspection services for two electrical substations in Tom Green County and Sterling County.

Goat Mountain Wind Farm - Comprehensive geotechnical investigation for foundation recommendations of transmission line towers at the site including construction testing of concrete density, compaction, proctors, and compressive strength testing.

Brownwood ISD - Comprehensive geotechnical investigation, pavement recommendations, and foundation recommendations for the renovation of six campuses in Brownwood, which included 48 soil borings and 12 concrete corings on serveral campuses.
